LACI is privileged to be working with 14 inspiring non-profits and small businesses for the Spring 2012 semester. They include:
The Abundant Table
The Abundant Table seeks to change lives and systems by creating sustainable relationships to the land and local community. The organization serves youth by providing health and nutrition classes, cooking classes, experimental farm tours, and leadership development. For young adults and adults, TAT provides year long internships providing experience in small scale agriculture and youth development, and have a produce box program to teach families how to cook with healthier foods, as well as encourage parents to advocate for healthy food in schools. The Abundant Table just took over Join the Farm, a for-profit social business, and now must smoothly transition two organizations into one. LACI is assisting the organization on transition, rebranding, and potential corporate sponsorship packet.
Bneato
Bneato, a returning LACI client, is a full-service professional organizing business that loves helping people get and stay organized. They also enjoy interacting with the public and organizing talks on a monthly basis, whether it be through Bneato Organizing Boot Camp or to a group of individuals at CalTech. LACI is working closely with the organization on a feasibility study to determine if the owner could open a pop-up shop to sell organizing materials in conjunction with the fabulous services she already provides.
Cosmopolitan Youth Foundation
The Cosmopolitan Youth Foundation is a non-profit started from the CYF Golf Club which works with youth to teach them about respect and self-esteem through the game of golf. BTS Thrift Boutique
BTS Thrift Boutique is a high-end thrift store under BTS Ventures, a branch of Beit T’Shuvah–a non-profit that serves individuals and families undergoing recovery from addictions and behavioral disorders. Unlike most thrift stores, BTS Thrift Boutique offers higher quality goods beyond clothes, including furniture, dishware, and other home items. While most of their clients are middle-aged women, BTS believes there might be an untapped market with college students or recent college grads looking to furnish their apartments. LACI is working with BTS on a two-fold marketing plan concerning market research and an execution strategy.
Fresh Food LA
Fresh Food LA is a non-profit under the CCDC that is looking to start a local co-op to bring healthy, organic, affordable fresh food to the low-income community in LA. LACI is working with FFLA to develop a feasibility study for their co-op.

Classes are offered on a sliding scale basis, and include active classes at their studio (yoga, tai chi, etc.), inactive education-centered classes (on nutrition, chronic illnesses), and healing clinics where people can be treated. Additionally, HOW is in the process of developing a program to help the chronically ill with everything from understanding their illness to coping with it. LACI is teaming with HOW to create a partnerships strategy.
FPCAC
The FPCAC provides performing arts instruction to youth in south central LA. Taught by professionals, the curriculum focuses on developing students’ sense of responsibility and self-esteem through a variety of free after-school programs including everything from dance to musical instrument instruction to acting. As FPCAC is a young organization, LACI will be working to develop a basic marketing plan to serve FPCAC’s various interests.
It Looks Fabulous Wigs
It Looks Fabulous Wigs seeks to produce custom styled wigs at an affordable price for women suffering from cancer and other health issues. The organization is currently in its beginning research phase, and LACI will focused on doing market research of competitors and of the supply chain in the production of wigs.

Starlight is a thirty year old international organization that has served over 60 million children since inception. The organization works with seriously ill/indefinitely hospitalized youth, and provides programs throughout hospitals to provide what they call “total care”– while health professionals focus on treating the illness, Starlight provides programs to lift their spirits and help these children be children. LACI is working with Starlight on a global expansion/corporate partner analysis project.
Tevolution
Tevolution is an organic, all-natural and delicious new brand of premium ready-to-drink iced tea, where $0.25 of every bottle purchased is donated to emerging non-profits impacting local communities across the United States. Currently available in LA and D.C., Tevolution is looking to grow the sales and distribution of their product. LACI will be working with Tevolution on a cause marketing project to convey not only the health benefits of this tea, but also the impact it has on the community.
