LACI invites you to attend our End of Semester Project Showcase on Monday, November 28th at the Campus Center Ballroom. This is our signature event that we hold each semester where our teams present the projects that they have been working on all semester. The event will also highlight three of our top projects: Starry Kitchen, Kids in the Spotlight, and the Lazarex Foundation. Please join us; members who are interested in joining LACI are highly encouraged to attend as well!

Refreshments will be provided.

Bronson's Journey

Bronson Chang, former VP of Projects for LACI and currently a senior advisor and board liaison, spent this past summer in India with the USC Global Impact program. He worked with a team of USC students on a water and health project in the small village of Hubli. As always, his adventures were amazing and many of us wish we could have been there. The closest we can get is through his insightful blog posts, which can all be found here.

Marshall Student Awards

LACI had an impressive showing at the 2009 Marshall Student Awards Banquet. This event recognizes notable Marshall Students and Student Organizations for their outstanding achievements. LACI won the award of “Most Outstanding Organization.” Also, VP of Projects Bronson Chang was named “Most Outstanding Vice President” and VP of Marketing Josh Wong was named “Most Valuable Board Member.”

Spring Showcase Selections

After two nights of quality LACI team presentations, the LACI Board has selected the three teams that will be giving full-length presentations at the Spring 2009 Showcase. Stephanie Scott’s team worked with Breathe LA, a local organization looking to promote clean air and healthy lungs. Scott Sherwood’s team worked with Gloria Driver, a local entrepreneur looking to open a southern kitchen named Our Daily Bread. Rachael Kim’s team worked with Neighbors Acting Together Helping All, an organization dedicated to serving Northwest Pasadena’s Lincoln Corridor.

Consulting Panel

LACI hosted its first-ever Consulting Panel featuring distinguished panelists from Blackstone Consulting, Draper Consulting Group, Towers Perrin, KRE Consulting, and Hitachi Consulting. Through the diversity of the panel, students were able to acquire a broad perspective about how consulting varies when clients are Fortune 500 companies versus small businesses and non-profits. A networking session followed.
