Tien Tran

LACI PResident

Tien (he/him) is a junior from San Jose, California studying Business Administration and minoring in Digital Entrepreneurship. He joined LACI in Fall 2022 and has previously served as VP of Internal Relations. As President, Tien oversees LACI and supports the rest of the executive team in their initiatives. Next summer, he will intern at Bain & Company in the LA office. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, playing video games, exploring LA, and cooking.

Chloe Ha

Vice President of Projects

Chloe is a sophomore majoring in Artificial Intelligence for Business. This is her fourth semester in LACI, and she’s previously been a director of projects. As current VP of projects, she oversees client recruitment and manages the project cycles of each team. This past summer she was a consulting intern at Musa, an EdTech startup. Chloe is from Northern California and enjoys DJ-ing, trying new brunch places, and going to concerts.

Mateo Villalba-Mutis

Vice President of Human Resources

Mateo is a junior from Seattle, WA, majoring in Political Science. This is his third semester in LACI, and he is currently VP of HR. As VP of HR, he runs student recruitment, facilitates new member training, and promotes general member well-being. Last summer, he worked at Ford Motor Company for their Model e division as a communications intern. He enjoys baking, watching F1 and college football, excellent public transit, and watching planes take off.

Amay Baweja

Vice President of Fellowship

Amay is a junior from Detroit, MI studying Finance and Accounting. This is his fourth semester in LACI and he currently serves as VP of Fellowship and a Project Team Lead. As VP of Fellowship, Amay organizes social events and focuses on fostering an engaging and inclusive LACI environment. He is passionate about creating meaningful social impact and driving innovative change in the business and healthcare fields. Next summer, Amay will intern at Morgan Stanley as a healthcare investment banking intern. In his free time, Amay enjoys tennis, hiking, going to concerts, exploring LA, and trying new restaurants.

Emily Wu

Vice President of External Relations

Emily is a junior from the Washington D.C Area studying Business and Artificial Intelligence. This is her fifth semester in LACI, and she previously served as a team lead and Director of XR. As Vice President of External Relations, Emily organizes professional development events and directs LACI’s marketing strategy. Next summer, Emily will intern at Goldman Sachs in their technology investment banking practice. She is interested in how the intersection between technology and finance can create tangible social impact. In her free time, Emily loves escape rooms, cafe-hopping, and contemporary art museums.

Samarth Sogani

vice President of Internal Resources & Finance

Samarth Sogani is a junior from Princeton, New Jersey studying Business Administration and Computer Programming. This is his fourth semester in LACI, and he’s previously served as a Director of Finance. Samarth’s role as VP of IR & Finance entails coordinating internal professional development and managing the finances of LACI. Next summer, he will be interning with PJT Partners in their Technology Investment Banking team. In his free time, Samarth loves gardening, football, and camping.
